Game Jam Aotearoa 2023
Game Jam Aotearoa 2023 is a nation-wide, virtual, collaborative event to inspire and grow innovation, experimentation, and collaboration in games.
Beginning on Friday evening at 6pm, with video keynotes and advice from leaders in the game development industry, the fun really starts with the announcement of this year's theme at 7pm, kept secret until the last second!
These events are awesome for fostering friendships, increasing confidence, and creating opportunities within the game dev communities. You get to challenge yourself and your creativity, while you explore new roles, and develop and refine your skills.
Please note: This is primarily a virtual event that encourages collaboration across the country, however teams can meet up to collaborate in person if they choose to.
In addition to the fun of making a game, we also have prizes to give away!
In order to be eligible for the prizes you must be currently residing in New Zealand and be 18 years or older.

Travel through a mystical world, solving puzzles by using time travel (which I invented, by the way)! Towering Through Time is a (very short) Puzzle Platformer in which you play as the Orange-box-creature-thing, which can use portals to travel to the New, or back to the Old.

Welcome to the team, CONTRACTOR. For your first assignment will be test driving our new Cybernetic Revamp And Building System, (or C.R.A.B.S. for short). Your objective is to demolish the old, and quite frankly not up to code, buildings of SUNSET BAY, to make way for our new exciting standardized commercial and residential solutions.
As it is a working prototype, the C.R.A.B.S Unit has one minor flaw. It's battery can only last 60 SECONDS. So you'll need to get as much work done before your unit powers down. R&D are still looking into consumable fuel sources for the unit, but let us know if you find anything that could be of use out there...
